Riverton Gets Smokin’ New Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
(Riverton, UT) On Thursday, July 10 at 11 a.m., Ahmad Vedadi will open the first Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Riverton. To celebrate the new restaurant, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is hosting a three-day grand opening celebration. Thursday kicks off with the first 50 guests receiving gift cards worth up to $50.
On Friday, customers can stop by the new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit for $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. Radio station K Bull 93 will be on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. One lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year. Saturday, Dickey’s Barbecue will offer all day merchandise giveaways.
“I love the art of making great barbecue and summer is the perfect time to bring barbecue to the Riverton area,” said first time owner, Ahmad Vedadi. “We smoke our meats every night low and slow for 14 hours and that’s what makes us truly great barbecue.”
Prior to opening Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, Vedadi owned a pizza delivery chain with 16 locations, a fine dining restaurant and a Mexican restaurant. Today, he also owns three Subway franchises. Vedadi has lived in Utah for over 35 years and has a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Utah.
