Marana Gets a Taste of Texas when Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Opens Thursday
(Marana, AZ) Pennsylvania native Darryl Weaver and his wife Laura bring the nation’s largest barbecue chain, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, to Marana’s Target Plaza with a three-day grand opening beginning Thursday, August 6. The barbecue bash includes barbecue deals, merchandise giveaways and three chances for guests to win free barbecue for a year.
“We are excited to further expand the Dickey’s brand across the state of Arizona with the addition of our seventh location here,” says Roland Dickey, Jr., CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. “The Dickey’s Barbecue family warmly welcomes Darryl into our rapidly growing team of franchise owner / operators.”
The three-day grand opening includes:
· Thursday, August 6 kicks off with the first 50 guests receiving gift cards worth up to $50.
· Friday, August 7, guests can grab Dickey’s Barbecue goodies with all day merchandise giveaways.
· Saturday August 8, radio station 96.1 KLPX will be on-site from noon to 2 p.m. and the new store will serve barbecue specials such as $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. One lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year.
A 25-year Army veteran, Darryl is excited to open his own business and positively impact his community. “You just can’t go wrong with delicious slow-smoked Texas barbecue,” says Darryl. “Marana is a fast-growing community that lacks a Texas-style barbecue option, so we feel that we’ve truly found our niche here.” Darryl looks forward to bringing slow-smoked meats, home-style sides, and free ice cream to the Marana community every day.
This is Darryl’s first store and he plans to open more in the future. The new Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Marana is located at 7077 N. Thornydale Road, and the phone number is 520-638-8030.
