Mr. Dickey Visits Virginia Beach for Grand Opening of New Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

(Virginia Beach, VA) On Thursday, September 11 at 11 a.m., the newest Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Virginia Beach is kicking off a three-day grand opening. The first 50 guests will receive gift cards worth up to $50.  On Friday guests get the chance to meet Roland Dickey, chairman and lead chef of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants when he stops by to hand out 100 autographed copies of his cookbook, Mr. Dickey’s Barbecue Cookbook.

Friday’s party also includes radio station Eagle 97.3 on-site from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and one lucky winner will be chosen for a $500 gift card and three winners will receive free barbecue for an entire year. Guests get a barbecue deal with the new location serving $2 pulled pork barbecue sandwiches. On Saturday guests can grab t-shirts, sunglasses and koozies when the store offers all day merchandise giveaways.

“I’ve loved owning my own Dickey’s Barbecue Pit and when I had the opportunity to open a second location I couldn’t resist,” said multi-unit franchise owner, Matt Burnett. “I’m honored to have Mr. Dickey visit Virginia Beach and get to know our loyal guests.”
