Panama City, FL Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Offers Free Barbecue For Those In Need

PANAMA CITY (Oct. 12, 2020) Dickey’s Barbecue Pit Owner Operators Sam and Michelle Zaghariet are giving away free sandwiches to anyone in the Gulf Coastal area who is struggling to find their next meal.

“I am always proud to serve the greater Panama City community and recognize this is a hard time for many folks, so I encourage anyone who is struggling and hungry to stop-in for a warm meal,” said Sam Zaghariet, Owner Operator of the Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location in Pier Park.

The small business owners and Dickey’s franchisees are also offering 10% off meals in-store to all local first responders including law enforcement officers, fire firefighters, active military personnel, Veterans, medical care workers and EMTs.

Every day from 11a.m.  – 9 p.m., Sam and Michelle serve authentic, Texas-style barbecue out of their Dickey’s Barbecue Pit location and throughout the pandemic, the Pit Masters and their team gave thanks to those who serve the community on the front lines by giving away free sandwiches and boxed lunches to police officers and fire fighters.

“This has been a long year for all of us, but especially for our front-line heroes who have never given up on protecting our community and keeping us safe. At Dickey’s, we are proud to serve those who serve our community and I welcome all first responders to stop in for some delicious barbecue,” said Sam.

Despite the unfavorable economic conditions many restaurants are facing, Sam reports his store sales are rebounding and says, “With weddings and sports picking back-up we are seeing a big increase in caterings, which is really helping our business. As we head into the Thanksgiving and Christmas season, we look forward to offering guests a variety of holiday meats and meals to continue warming up the community with our delicious barbecue.”

“Sam and Michelle’s generous spirit is a cornerstone trait we look for in all of our franchise family members and as they round their fifth year in operations, we applaud their success and the leadership they’ve demonstrated for our brand,” said Laura Rea Dickey, CEO of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.
